The protagonist has been well thought through, letting the reader follow along on his journeys and learnings in a home filled with ideas and treasures. The description of his environment fills the readers imagination, leading them through Piranesi's eyes.  A well thought through and placed plot keeping the reader guessing just how and why Piranesi is where he is
